Ford Transit
MB60 vs MB15

This is a brief pictorial on how to tell the difference between the Ford Transit castings.
I have picked out the three easiest items to spot for quick identification.

MB60G - M# 165
MB15K - M# 281
Front
MB60 Has plastic headlights and grill, and "Transit" in the License plate area.
MB15 Has metal grill and painted headlights. No License Plate
Roof
On the MB60, the center rib is broken up, while the MB15 rib is continuous.

Case of the disappearing "Transit"

The "Transit" License plate and name plate on the rear has a tendency to disappear later on in a casting's life.
Early MB60G
Now you see it
Early MB15K
In the MB60, the "Transit" disappeared during the "Cadbury Flake" model. In the MB15, it occured during the 2000 German Coke model.
Later MB60G
Now you don't
Later MB15K

Made In China Variation
There are two base molds for the Transit vans made in China. Most models will have both bases issued.
 This is the "Oval" base
This is the "Square" base
