1997
In the beginning
Back in 1997 there was a plain jane back yard. The yard was almost devoid of plant life due to dogs. In one little corner off the back steps was a fifty gallon pond with a few fish and plants. It was fine but, the family wanted more...
This is the back yard, looking north off the kitchen steps. We had stopped putting the dogs in the pen when we put in the picket fencetwo years earlier. The only problem with free range dogs is that you also have free range poop. Thank goodness for Pet Butler.
Same ugly back yard. This time looking north up the side walk. This leads to the parking area off the alley
Notice the spots of grass. This is a typical inner city neglected yard. Where the dog pen is, would soon be the home of the above ground pond. The peach tree is a heavy producer, so it stays.
The same area but from a different angle. This shows the apple tree that couldn't. Not only did it not grow straight, but it only produces apples every 3rd year.
A view of the northwest corner of the yard. A great place to store junk. Out of sight because of the dog pen.
The beginning of it all. A small pond that cried out for company. Oh to have a little bigger pond. From small wishes, come big projects.
